Elastic Email

The Connections Tab allows you to integrate and configure email-sending services within SureMail. This document outlines the configuration options available for the Elastic Email Connection.

How to Add an Elastic Email Connection?

ElasticMail is an email-sending service that enables reliable email delivery from your WordPress site. To establish a connection go to the Connections tab, and follow the steps below:

1. Click the Add Connection button.
2. A sidebar menu will slide in from the right.
3. Select Elastic Email to open another sliding sidebar with the Elastic Email connection fields.

Configure the Elastic Email Connection Fields

1. Connection Title

• Enter a unique title for this connection.

2. API Key

• To connect your Elastic Email account, you need to enter an API Key. 

3. Email Type 

You need to define the Email Type by selecting either Transactional Email or Marketing Email from the dropdown.

Email Type:

1. Transactional Email
   • Purpose: Used for system-generated emails that are triggered by user actions or system events.
   • Examples:
     • Order confirmations
     • Password reset emails
     • Account verification emails
     • Subscription confirmations
   • When to Select: Choose Transactional Email when sending critical, one-to-one emails that are expected to be delivered immediately and do not require an unsubscribe option.
2. Marketing Email
   • Purpose: Used for promotional, newsletter, or bulk email campaigns that engage users.
   • Examples:
     • Email newsletters
     • Promotional offers
     • Product updates
     • Onboarding/welcome sequences
   • When to Select: Choose Marketing Email when sending bulk messages to a list of subscribers for promotional or engagement purposes. These emails should always include an unsubscribe option as per email marketing regulations.

4. From Email

Specify the From Email address that should be used when sending emails from your WordPress site.

• The From Email specified in the Elastic Email connection will take precedence when the Force From Email option is enabled.
• If not enabled, other plugins or settings may override the From Email.

4. From Name

Specify the From Name that should be used for all outgoing emails.

• This is the name that recipients will see in their inbox when receiving emails from your site.
• You can use a combination of your name and company name as from name.

5. Connection Sequence for From Email

• Default Value: 10
• Determines the Sequence of this connection.
• Lower numbers indicate higher priority. If multiple connections are available for a given From Email, then the connection with the lowest sequence number will be used first.

By configuring the Elastic Email connection properly, you ensure reliable email delivery from your WordPress site with the correct sender details.
